Cahill, 32, still has another two years left on his contract at the Toffees but had a lengthy barren spell in front of goal over the past 18 months, despite making 41 appearances for the Mersey side.

The Saudi club - former home of fellow Aussie Jon McKain - believe the double World Cup veteran may be ripe for a late career move to the Middle East.

But Moyes has dismissed speculation about Cahill's future and insisted he was still a vital part of the Everton squad.

“He’s fit, he’s athletic, he can do several jobs for us,” said Moyes earlier this month. “There’s been a couple of games where we’ve been able to change and rest him because we’ve had a fully fit squad.

“But Tim’s been the mainstay of the way we’ve played. There’ll be a time when we have to move on and that will evolve, but not at the moment.

“I think he’s still got a two or three-year contract and he’ll still be a big part of what we do.”

Cahill has previously hinted only a return home to the A-League would ever lure him away from Everton after eight years with the club.
