The ‘On The Ball’ app, is set to launch early in 2018 and aims to improve football hopefuls of all standards, from beginners to professionals.

Ex-England internationals teamed up with former Sydney FC winger, Robert Stambolziev and MLS star, Jordan Stewart to film over 800 drills, at the Lakeside Stadium in South Melbourne.

On The Ball will offer an insight into what it takes to become a professional, as well as specialist advice on training ground techniques.

“There is nothing else like this in the world,” said the app’s founder, Michael Kathopoulis – speaking exclusively to FourFourTwo.

“With the app, you can choose your fitness and skill level and from there, On The Ball gives you a training programme tailored to your ability.”

Kathopoulis, who specialises in developing professional players, hopes his creation will be used by football coaches around the world, due to its expert research and inspirational ambassadors.

“Most online soccer training requires heaps of equipment and far too many hurdles," he said. "Our programme is expert training with limited equipment.”

Lescott, a two-time Premier League winner, explained what he hopes to achieve with On The Ball: “There are kids all around the world with so much talent. They just need that structure and guidance to develop their skills and that is what I hope to do.”

The former Manchester City defender and Shaun Wright-Phillips are the biggest names to associate themselves with the app so far, but Kathopoulis is promising more world-class players, across three different continents.

“We have unnamed ambassadors who are currently playing in the Premier League, the A-League and in the United States. I can’t give too much away, but more will be revealed in the next few months,” promised Kathopoulis.
