John O'Neill has agreed to return to the Australian Rugby Union.
It is understood O'Neill has signed a five-year contract to re-join the organisation he led before taking charge of the FFA.
Originally, in-fighting and factions led to O'Neill's departure following the 2003 Rugby World Cup held in Australia. Following that he joined forces with Frank Lowy to re-invigorate football here, and his stint as FFA boss included the launch of the A-League and helping the Socceroos to the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
O'Neill's first day in the job is likely to be June 22.
