The son of former Perth Glory CEO Jason Brewer has become the latest Australian goalkeeping export, inking a three-year professional deal with Charlton Athletic.
Ashley Maynard-Brewer, 17, has already spent two years with the EFL League One side, after a move overseas from hometown club ECU Joondalup.
“The new contract is till the end of this year plus a further two years with an option for another year on top of that,” Maynard-Brewer told The West Australian.
“I’m really happy with signing it and feel that I’ve improved a lot since I’ve come to Charlton and I’m grateful to have got the extension and hope to continue to improve over the next few years.”
ECU Joondalup has proven to be a hotbed for footballing talent in recent years, with Rhys Williams, Chris Herd, Shane Lowry and Josh Risdon amongst those who've gone on to appear for the Socceroos after their formative years at the club.
