EXCLUSIVE: Former Brisbane Roar striker Reinaldo has inked a big money deal with Beijing Guoan arriving as a replacement for Socceroo Joel Griffiths.
The tall Brazilian forward, 27, has moved from Saudi Arabian club Al Raed to the Chinese Super League outfit in a deal thought to be worth close to $2 million for two years.
Reinaldo, an Australian passport holder, has been signed by Beijing as an Asian striker following Griffiths' recent departure to join Nicolas Anelka at Shanghai Shenhua.
In the coming months, Roar are set to face Beijing in the 2012 Asian Champions League.
Reinaldo's representatives were confident that the former Roar striker will do well in China.
"We finalised the deal a couple of days ago, and Reinaldo should be meeting up with the team in Portugal for pre season training in the next few days," said Steve Panopoulos, who brokered the deal.
"This is a great opportunity for Reinaldo to play one of the most traditional Chinese clubs, with a massive fan base, and also competing in the ACL."
