Former Western Sydney midfielder Liam Youlley has signed for South African side Maritzburg United.
Youlley spent three years with the Wanderers, making two A-League appearances. He left the club in May to join Sydney Olympic.
An AIS product, Youlley came through Olympic's youth system and has played 16 times for the Young Socceroos, scoring one goal.
The 20-year old Australian has signed a two-year deal with Maritzburg United with the option for a third.
“Both my parents were born and grew up in South Africa,” he told the club website.
“My mother was born in Woodlands, Pietermaritzburg, and my dad in Johannesburg. I don’t know much about the club and the South African League. It’s all new to me, and there’s a lot to learn.
“But Maritzburg is a good team. They’re a nice bunch of players and they welcomed me well. I enjoyed my first training session and they made it easy for me. I’m here to show them what I can do and I hope they will enjoy what I can do.”`
Maritzburg United finished seventh in the Premier Soccer League last season.
