Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to be out for around three weeks after suffering a hamstring tear, the European champions have announced.
Fabregas, who has enjoyed a fine start to life at the Nou Camp since his summer switch from Arsenal, sustained the injury during this morning's training ahead of the club's Primera Division trip to Sporting Gijon tomorrow.
The injury mean Fabregas will not only miss the Sporting game, but it also likely to be out of Spain'sEuro 2012 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Scotland on October 7 and 11 respectively, plus the subsequent club games against Racing Santander in La Liga and Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.
If all goes as expected, Fabregas could return to action in the league clash with Sevilla on the weekend of October 22.
