The riots between two factions of Belgrano's hooligans at Gigante de Alberdi stadium, Cordoba, occurred when the fans left the stands to get into a fight near the venue during a Nacional B match, the second most important league in the South American country.

Police inspector Jeronimo Gonzalez confirmed an incident occurred "during the second half, when a group of Belgrano hooligans left the stadium. Then they fought each other nearby."

According to Urgency Hospital's press release, Ismael Cordoba, 30, is the most seriously injured of the three, having received two shots in the thorax and one in the abdomen.

"He has diaphragm, liver, kidney and intestine injuries. His state is very complicated," the press release said.

Fernando Liendo, 21, remains at Urgency Hospital and is being monitored by a specialist, while Damian Gomez, 28, was discharged after being shot in the leg.

This new episode adds to a long list of violent incidents in Argentina, including the death of Huracan and Colon fans earlier this month.
