THE national anthems ahead of the FA Cup final at Wembley were marred by Portsmouth and Cardiff fans jeering.
Some Pompey fans whistled and booed when Katherine Jenkins sang 'Land Of My Fathers' for the Welsh, then supporters for the Coca-Cola Championship side did the same when Lesley Garrett performed 'God Save The Queen'.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp called for respect between the two fans ahead of the showpiece. That included returning to the tradition of supporters staying for the trophy presentation whether they had won or lost. The anthems were also highlighted as a potential problem before the match.
Jenkins became the first person to sing the Welsh national anthem at an FA Cup final.
