FORMER Pohang Steelers boss Sergio Farias hinted he may be interested in a shock return to the Korean club following the sacking of Waldemar Lemos on Monday.
The Brazilian, who led the team to the 2007 K-League title and the 2009 Asian Champions League, left Pohang in December to take the reins at Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli.
However, the West Asian club failed to progress past the first stage of the 2010 edition of the continental competition and finished sixth in the Saudi League.
Pohang booked their place in the last eight of the AFC Champions League with a 1-0 win over Kashima Antlers in midweek but sit in 12th place in the K-League following a run of eight games without a win.
"I still have a lot of affection for Pohang," said Farias, who was returning to Korea to attend a ceremony to make him an honorary citizen of the city and iron out some outstanding financial issues.
"If Pohang were to want that, it is possible that I could return."
