Faubert completed his loan move to the Bernabeu yesterday from West Ham, with Madrid having an option to buy him at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old will be officially presented as a Madrid player tomorrow and he admits he is still in shock.

"I thought it was all a joke at first to be honest," Faubert told Realmadrid.com. "It was only afterwards that I realised it was all true and that Real Madrid were interested.

"I am very happy.

"Everything that has taken place still hasn't set in. I think that when I start training will be when I'll realise it's all real."

Faubert joined West Ham in 2007 from Bordeaux but soon suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, which left him on the sidelines for the first half of last season.

Madrid have been searching or a right winger during the transfer window and were linked with the likes of Jermaine Pennant, Aaron Lennon and Antonio Valencia.

The France international is delighted the Spanish giants opted for him.

"I am very happy because this is a dream come true," he added. "Real Madrid are the best team in the world. I couldn't be happier.

"I want to play and perform my best in every match. I want to play as many matches possible and prove that I belong here.

"My goal is to win a title, it's for that reason I've come to Real Madrid.

"The best players have all wound up here and won many titles. It's the best team in the world."
