READING shot-stopper Adam Federici has re-affirmed his commitment to Australia admitting he's desperate to be part of the Socceroos squad which goes to the 2010 World Cup.
The 25-year-old uncapped Socceroo was recently linked with a switch to play for Italy, whom he is eligible for due to his Italian parentage.
But Federici told the Bracknell Forest Standard the only national team he's thinking about is Australia, revealing he's desperate to go to South Africa with the Socceroos.
"Hopefully I won't get much of a summer holiday because of the World Cup," he said.
"But I don't mind and hopefully all the training with the Australia squad will help my cause next season as well.
"It could be a long summer for me, but I'm ready to go and then get ready for the big push to get us back in the Premier League next season."
Federici established himself as Championship club Reading's number one goalkeeper this season, in a campaign where the Royals started slowly but found form late on storming up the table.
He added: "If we can keep this team together next season then I'm sure we can push for automatic promotion.
"To be honest I don't want this season to end because since Brian McDermott took over we have been in third place on those results."
Reading's midweek 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe ended their hopes of making this season's playoffs but Federici admitted he wants to finish the season on a high.
"We want to win every game and make up for the Scunthorpe draw tomorrow against Watford, before coming back home for the last game of the season," Federici added.
"The fans have been fantastic both home and away this season. They've really excelled and they're really exciting to play in front of."
