The 32-year-old shot-stopper was third choice at Bournemouth behind Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc.

Federici came close to joining Forest earlier this month, but the Championship club's interest reportedly eased after a medical.

However, Forest boss Mark Warburton reignited his interest on deadline day, having failed to land a goalkeeper since Vladimir Stojkovic's exit.

Federici will rival Dimitar Evmitov, Stephen Henderson and Jordan Smith to be Forest's number one.

Smith, 22, has played all five of Forest's Championship games this season.

Federici, who is currently on Socceroos duty, hasn't played at club level since January having suffered a serious knee injury in February.

The Nowra-born keeper has made 17 appearances for the Cherries since his move from Reading in 2015.
