READING'S Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici is determined to bounce back after his opening day blunder in the Royals' clash with Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Socceroos deputy allowed Michael Kightly's tame effort to slip under him for Stoke City's goal in their 1-1 draw with the newly promoted Royals on Saturday.
It doesn't get any easier for Federici, with Reading set to face European champions Chelsea next in the league.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge and I am sure all the other boys will be," Federici told the Reading Chronicle.
"I've played against Torres before in a cup game and he scored a hat-trick, it will be a good test for us."
On his gaffe against the Potters, Federici admitted he was nervous prior to the game and embarrassed by the error.
"I'm very hard on myself, I don't make those mistakes in training let alone games so I'm a bit embarrassed," he said.
"I've been dreaming about playing in the Premier League for a long time so I'm taking it hard.
"It wasn't a great way to start, it's been a long journey to get here and it was a bit disappointing on my behalf.
"It just stuck to my shirt and spun off my wet top and I just lost it. But the boys worked very hard to get a point and they deserve to be happy."
Meanwhile, Reading signed former Manchester City and Arsenal keeper Stuart Taylor on Tuesday, to apply pressure on the Australian stopper.
The Royals loaned out backup keeper Mikkel Andersen to Portsmouth last week, while number two Alex McCarthy is expected to be farmed out for experience soon.
