The 25-year-old Australian shot-stopper has largely impressed in his first full season as a number one goalkeeper, thus the links of a high-profile transfer.

But Federici brushed off that speculation and remains focused on improving his game at Reading.

"Quite a few of my mates asked me about the Tottenham link. But I don't know anything about that or where it's come from," Federici told the Bracknell Forest Standard.

He added: "It's flattering to be linked to these clubs, but this is my first year as a number one and I've got a long way to go still.

"I'm learning each day and becoming better and better.

"Obviously I've made a few mistakes this season, but we can hopefully count those on one hand and then look to improve on that next season as I keep working on my consistency."

Indeed, the goalkeeper's focus now is on helping Reading continue their good form as they move away from the drop zone.

The Royals are currently seventeenth having won six of their last seven in the league.

He added: "We just want to keep the form going and we'll keep on skipping up the table."
