Kazim-Richards, who began Fenerbahce's comeback with their first goal in the 2-1 opening-leg victory in Istanbul, labelled their clash with Avram Grant's Barclays Premier League side as one of the biggest games in the club's history.

Fenerbahce will be looking to add to their first-leg advantage against the English side but coach Zico has injury and illness concerns over Roberto Carlos and Claudio Maldonado.

However, Kazim-Richards believes they can pull off a major upset and dump Chelsea out of the competition.

"This is a big game in our history," he said.

"It doesn't matter that Chelsea have rested players in their last league game.

"Chelsea at home are a great team and win a lot of games. We are here with confidence and have a great coach.

"We are winning the game at the moment which gives us confidence rather than coming here 1-0 down.

"We have just got to play our game and try and win the tie."

Kazim-Richards once struggled to get into Sheffield United's side but his former Blades boss, Neil Warnock, remains in touch.

Warnock, now with Crystal Palace, texted Kazim-Richards after his starring role in their first leg success over the Blues.

Kazim-Richards, who left United for Fenerbahce in a £1.3million deal in June last year, added: "He stays in touch. He said 'well done' and that he was proud. Obviously he is British and wants Chelsea to win but he wants me to do well, so I take it that he obviously wants Fenerbahce to win too."

Kazim-Richards is unlikely to start against Chelsea despite his first-leg heroics.

Zico remains optimistic that his side can finish the job they began on home soil and become the first Turkish side to reach the Champions League semi-finals.

"When you look at the number of quality players we have, we are a bit behind Europe's other top teams," said Zico.

"But in terms of having a team spirit, I don't think we lack anything. No achievement comes without hard work.

"But, also, faith is a most important factor. I am trying to make my players believe that they can succeed."
