Ferguson had only praise for his squad's first half performance against Perth Glory and now he is looking to build on that 1-0 triumph.

"First half I was really happy with the way we moved the ball and defended high up the park," Ferguson said.

"We were in people's faces, we kept the ball well and created nine corners and that shows the pressure we put Perth under."

The Fury coach was pleased with the effort put in at both ends of the pitch and will be asking the same of his squad against Roar.

Ferguson expects Brisbane to regroup from theirĀ 1-0 loss to Adelaide last weekend and present a solid challenge for Fury, but he's confident his players are well equipped for the clash

"It's there for the taking, but it's a massive game for us. It could take us to the next level. It's one where confidence should be good," he said.

"We did keep a clean sheet last week, but we do know the Brisbane Roar is going to be very hard opposition.

"Murdocca's a quality player; they've missed him and (Matt) McKay but the young players they've brought in Zullo and Tommy Oar, they're going to be a massive threat to us, so it's how we try and set out the game plan and try to frustrate them."

Fury midfielder-turned-defender Chris Grossman is looking forward to his first return bout at Suncorp Stadium since leaving Roar.

Like Ferguson, he expects Brisbane to have all their guns firing.

"We're feeling pretty confident coming off a good win against Perth, but Brisbane have so many players who can hurt you," Grossman said. "They're always a dangerous side.

"They've got a lot of young exciting players like Michael Zullo and Tommy Oar and a lot of experience from Sergio Van Dijk, Henrique and Craig Moore so they're going to be tough to break down but we'll just have to stay compact, work together and hopefully we can come away with a victory.

"The gaffer has said to us in the last few weeks that the first 30 minutes is crucial for us, keeping clean sheets and working hard defensively.

"If we can work hard for the first 30 or 45 minutes then hopefully we can come away with a positive result."
