Football Federation Australia have admitted they bungled when they banned Perth Glory from tweeting updates on their pre-season friendly last night.
Glory fans had hoped to keep up to date on social media for the hit out as Tony Popovic's side took on a Western Australia State Team at Inglewood.
But a directive to the club from the FFA blacked out Twitter coverage for the game, baffling supporters and club staff.
Although the game was on an FFA Cup night, the friendly only kicked off as the games in the eastern states were well underway and coming to an end.
"Bizarre and disappointing," tweeted Glory Chief Executive Tony Pignata this morning in response to the Twitter ban. "Especially as the FFA Cup games had finished half way through our game.
"But we were told we were not allowed to do any updates."

Today though the FFA admitted they had got it wrong and given bad advice to the WA club.
"There was an error from the FFA end when the friendly match was sanctioned," revealed an FFA spokesman.
"Normally, the clause is to help the promotion of FFA Cup games on social media when a match is being held in the same market.
"As there was no FFA Cup game in Perth last night, the clause ought to have been omitted from the friendly match sanction.
"it was an administrative accident/error on our end which we acknowledge and apologise for and hopefully it won’t happen again."
Glory won the game 5-2 with goals from Jason Davidson, Diego Castro, Jake Brimmer, Yagoub Mustafa and Chris Harold.
