In the second semi-final of the FFA Cup, and 19th ever Sydney Derby, it was Sydney FC who came out on top yet again, eventually easing to a comfortable 3-0 victory over rivals the Western Sydney Wanderers. Steve Corica’s side will now take on Adelaide United in the final of this year’s tournament.
Sydney FC
Andrew Redmayne – 7
A terrific display by a goalkeeper who is growing in confidence every game he plays. Brilliantly punched out many dangerous Baumjohann corners and free-kicks in the first half and made a couple of crucial saves to keep it at 0-0.
Rhyan Grant – 6
Nothing special to brag about from Grant who struggled to venture forward into dangerous attacking areas. Nonetheless he kept Bonevacia quiet and was generally solid.
Alex Wilkinson – 6
Much like Grant, another solid Sydney performer who dealt with the threat of Riera relatively well. Seems to have better games when he isn’t in the limelight.
Jop van der Linden – 6
Looks to be a solid replacement for the departed Jordy Buijs. He’s Dutch, his first name begins with a ‘J’ and he even takes corners too!
Michael Zullo – 6.5
Marked Sotirio out of the game and even did damage the other way with some lovely combos with Milos Ninkovic down the left.
