Football Federation Australia has announced their Head of Operations Matt Carroll will be leaving in April.
Carroll has been with the organisation since early 2004. His is the second high-profile resignation of recent months following the departure of former FFA Chief Executive John O'Neill last year.
FFA Chairman Mr Frank Lowy paid tribute to Carroll’s contribution.
"Matt has played an enormous part in the revival of football in Australia over the last three years," he said.
"I am disappointed to see Matt leave, but he has decided to pursue new opportunities and we wish him every success for those future endeavours. He leaves with our sincere gratitude."
FFA Chief Executive Ben Buckley said: "Matt's contribution across a broad portfolio of operations has been immense, and he will be missed.
"He can be tremendously proud of his achievements over the last three years, and the recent sold out Hyundai A-League Grand final is a fitting tribute to Matt’s efforts.
"I certainly join with all Matt's colleagues here at FFA in wishing him all the very best for the future."
