In addition all matches the following weekend (Week 24 of the Hyundai A-League, Week 11 of the Westfield W-League and Week 18 of the National Youth League) will be officially known as ‘Flood Relief Rounds'.

The aim of the Flood Relief Round is to help raise money for the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

"All Australians have been touched by the events in Queensland and we all want to help where we can," FFA CEO Ben Buckley said.

"I am very proud of our players - both here in Australia and the Qantas Socceroos in Qatar - as they all want to do their bit for this worthwhile cause."

To kick start the football family fundraising effort, FFA will donate $100,000 to the Premier's Appeal.

There will also be opportunities at each game during the ‘Flood Relief Round' for the general public to donate to the cause.

In addition to this support, FFA will dedicate the match between Brisbane Roar and Gold Coast United (Week 27) on Saturday 12 February 2011 to Flood victims. Further details of this match will be announced shortly.

"This is a national tragedy and we all must come together and help where we can," Buckley said.

"There are some immediate needs we can assist with in terms of supporting the fundraising effort, and there are some longer term needs specifically for the football community that we will work closely with Football Queensland on at the appropriate time."
