FFA's Technical Director Rob Baan has told au.fourfourtwo.com that the eagerly-awaited Technical Report has been completed.
By Eamonn Flanagan
“The report is finished and has been presented to the Board of Football Federation Australia and now we must wait until June when it will be released,” he said.
“There has been input and analysis from many people. It’s a very positive report that hopefully will be quickly adopted across all levels of the game.
“This report should give the game a new start. Hopefully, all levels in the game will support it. This will benefit Australian football. Of course it depends on budgets, but we can prioritise and get started straight away. There should be changes in the current set-up but you will have to wait for the detail. I cannot say until the board have looked at the report.”
One thing is known however, in future the Olyroos Coach will be separate from the position of Technical Director. Baan himself has devoted his time between the two roles since he took up the position in December last year.
“I coached the Olyroos to get to know what is going on behind-the-scenes. After this stage of qualification, whether we go through or not, I will focus on the job of Technical Director.”
