FOOTBALL Federation Australia look set to stick with the Dutch touch as they seek a replacement for the retiring technical director Rob Baan.
Eredivisie veteran Han Berger is believed to have been in Sydney this week for an interview for the position.
The 58 year old former FC Utrecht boss was said to be in talks with the FFA and was quoted as saying: "There has been a call, but nothing is yet clear."
Berger has spent almost his entire career coaching in Holland with the exception of one year as boss of J-League side Oita Trinita in 2004.
His previous clubs have included AZ, Groningen, Sparta Rotterdam and he is currently technical director at De Graafschap following a similar position at Utrecht.
An FFA spokesman would not confirm or deny Berger's interest in the soon-to-be-vacant technical director's post for Australia.
"We are talking to a wide range of candidates in our global search for a replacement National Technical Director," said head of corporate affairs, Bonita Mersiades.
