Sports retail giants rebel have come on board as a key sponsorship partner for the W-League for the next three years.
Rebel will also be the naming rights partner for the Football Federation Australia's Play Football campaign and Female Football week during the long-term deal.
FFA CEO David Gallop welcomed rebel and their parent company Super Retail Group, and hailed the deal as a landmark moment for football.
“To have a business with the size and reputation of rebel as a new partner is certainly a major coup for football in Australia,” said Gallop.
“Rebel has also proved themselves as a long-standing and proud supporter of women in sport and has worked actively to lift the profile of female players and promote grassroots participation.
“We are looking forward to partnering with rebel to increase grass roots participation and champion our elite female athletes within the Westfield W-League.
“We will be working closely with them to engage with football fans with compelling offers and activations.
"In particular ‘rebel women’ will celebrate Westfield W-league players, working to further elevate the profile of female athletes and providing a platform to tell their stories.”
Rebel’s Managing Director Erica Berchtold added:“We are really excited about this partnership which further highlights our commitment to women in sport.
"Football Federation Australia has been at the vanguard in this space, and we are delighted to be right there by their side in the next phase of the journey
“We want to continue to inspire the next generation of sports stars, and show younger women that football and sport in general is not just a hobby, but a viable career path.
"From grass roots participation to elite athletes, we are committed to making a positive contribution to supporting our inspiring women in sport."
