The video game giant claims they have made 250 tweaks to the gameplay plus another 500 new animation sequences and even more lifelike players.

The game will also be custom-designed for each platform for the first time ever, with exclusive features and controls depending on your console or PC.

On the Wii, for example, as well as the normal 11v11 sim, there will also be an option for an arcade-style 8v8 "Footii" match.

And on the PC, graphics will be pushed to the limits of modern technology for a breathtaking display.

New game features include the expansion of the Be A Pro concept into a season-by-season career, while there will also be new moves to learn including rainbow flicks and scoop shots, bringing the total to 32 trick shots.

Stadiums and match officials have also been regionalised accurately, says EA, while players can now custom-tune tactics to take total control of their team.

Producers promise to reveal more PS3 and XBOX360-specific game details later this month. It will also be available on PS2, DS, PSP and "mobile" (it says here - which we're guessing is phones).

“We listened to our consumers to make the changes that they wanted,” said EA's David Rutter. “We have an absolutely authentic recreation of the real sport through attention to detail.”
