Education and Development Manager, Andrew Bettell, said that again Football West has been able to appoint experienced and well qualified coaches, and is hopeful of continuing the good work achieved over the last couple of years.

Football West has been fortunate enough to be able to secure the services of National Training Centre coach and Perth Glory assistant coach Ken Lowe to work with the Under 15 State Boys, and he will be assisted by David Butterfield. Perth Glory legend Gareth Naven has been appointed to the position of Head Coach for the Under 14 Boys.

Bettell said that Football West was truly fortunate to be able to replace retiring coach Chris Ola with a similarly qualified and experienced coach in Naven, and said that with Lowe ! and Naven at the helm the future looked bright for the young players.

"With good preparation and good fortune we hope that the 7 current NTC players involved at National level will be duplicated in the future with this current crop", he said.

NTC coach Nicola Williams has been appointed to the Under 17 Girls position following on from her successful efforts with the Under 15s in 2007. She will be assisted by Ciara Conway.

Tanya Oxtoby has been promoted to U15 Head Coach after her efforts as Under 17 assistant last year, and she will be assisted by Amanda Tana.

Andrew Bettell said that Football West had every confidence that the success of last year girls' prgrams, culminating in 5 WA representatives in the national Under 17 squad, could be replicated in 2008 under the new coaching appointments.

All 4 coaches are looking forward to getting underway and details of the program, including! trials, will be posted to the web site in the immediate future.
