Free entry, and a great night of entertainment, should make for a big crowd at the Mt Hawthorn venue.

The launch evening will be a festival of football, with the future of Floreat Athena and Perth SC going on display at 5.30pm with an Under 23 match.

That will be followed by the best young footballers in WA giving an exhibition of the new FFA initiative, Small Sided Games, from 7.15 pm.

The main event kicks off at 7.45pm under the lights of Litis, as the Stirling Lions look to avenge their 4-2 loss to Floreat in the semi-finals. With a week and half to recover before Round One, both teams will be going in as hard as they can for their first silverware of the year.

Football West CEO Garry Chandler said that he was thrilled to be working with the game at such an exciting time.

“The 2008 season promises to be a cracker, with over 2,200 fans showing up to Saturday’s thrilling Night Series pre-season final between Floreat Athena and Perth SC,” he said.

“The lead-up to this year’s Premier League has been fun, fast and full of goals, and every football fan in WA should be excited by the year ahead.”
