Kingsman was let go by the Roar on Monday in what was a shock axing for the embattled A-League club.

Pourre had served as the club's CEO for a year before resigning in protest of the club's Indonesian owners, the Bakrie Group.

However, Pourre was convinced to return to the club in place of Kingsman as they once again attempt to steady the ship.

"Brisbane Roar is thrilled with the opportunity to work with David again. David brings a wealth of commercial experience, personal networks and a deep understanding of football operations that will provide stability, continuity and a pathway of growth for the Roar," Roar Chairman Rahim Soekasah said in a statament.

"These qualities are going to be central to ensure Brisbane Roar FC is correctly positioned to deliver constructive member engagement, increased commercial value to corporate partners and the execution of our future growth plans, giving our footballers the best platform to deliver results.

"Brisbane Roar has extremely strong football squads across our Hyundai A-league, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League teams, with David back on the team alongside our new advisory board, I am even more excited about the club’s future and the opportunities that lay ahead for Brisbane Roar FC."

Pourre added: "I am thrilled to be re-joining Brisbane Roar. This is a club that has continued its football journey and improvement in key areas of operations commenced during my first tenure.

"The planned move to a new $9 million, purpose-built, CoE in Logan in early 2018, the opening of the junior academy in Herston, and the build out of the biggest and best Football Academy in Australia are signs that we are already on the right track.

"What really appealed to me was the owner’s vision of what this football club could be, and should be, the biggest and best in Australia. There’s a lot of work to do to achieve that but I’m extremely pleased to be back and working towards that vision.

"A key part of the clubs reorganisation will be the implementation of an Advisory Board to provide valuable insight and strategic guidance to the management team at Roar. It is crucial we improve our approach to stakeholder engagement and we will announce details shortly on the composition of this Board."
