HANNOVER have completed the signing of Finland striker Mikael Forssell from Birmingham on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old has signed a contract tying him to the Bundesliga side until the summer of 2011.
Hannover's sporting director Christian Hochstatter, who worked with the injury-plagued frontman during his brief spell at Borussia Monchengladbach five years ago, told the club's official website, www.hannover96.de: "We are very happy that we could persuade Mikael to join Hannover."
Forssell was a member of the Birmingham squad relegated from the Barclays Premier League this month.
He added: "I am looking forward to playing for Hannover and in the Bundesliga."
