FOURFOURTWO will partner with Coerver Coaching and Sutherland Shire FA to launch FourFourTwo Performance Coerver Coaching skills clinics during school holidays in 2013.
The first clinics will run in April at the Harie Dening Centre – Sutherland Shire FA’s headquarters – at Bates Drive in Kareela and will initially only be available to SSFA registered players with any remaining places made available after the initial registration period on a first-come, first-served basis.
The clinics will be open to players of all abilities – boys and girls aged 8-15 – and will follow the Coerver system, recognised globally as the leading football skills teaching system for developing young players.
“Teaming up with Coerver was a logical and easy decision,” said FourFourTwo publishing director and AFC/FFA B License coach Andy Jackson. “The Coerver curriculum is tried and tested globally and recognised as best practice methodology for developing individual technique in the skill acquisition phase of learning."
“And there was no better place to start than the Sutherland Shire FA – Australia’s largest football association with 17,500 registered players – where I have been coaching for the last five years."
"Our objective is to help produce more skilled players, help raise coaching standards and create opportunities for paid work for local coaches, as well as generating skills content that can be shared nationally via the FourFourTwo Performance web site, which has just launched in Australia,” said Jackson.
Jeff Stewart, General Manager at Sutherland Shire FA added: “We’re delighted to extend this partnership with Andy and the team at FourFourTwo. Andy has been a valued member of our coaching team here at Bates Drive for the last five years. As an association our main objective is to deliver the best possible learning environments and outcomes for our young players and create opportunities for local coaches to develop their skills. We are confident that this partnership with FourFourTwo Performance and Coerver Coaching stacks up on both counts.”
Jason Lancsar, Vice President of Coerver Coaching Asia Pacific, said: “Working with FourFourTwo over the past three years has been brilliant. The world’s number one skills teaching method and the world’s number one football magazine coming together was a logical step.”
The first clinics will take place in the April school holidays and will run across four days from Monday April 15th to Thursday April 18th. If there is sufficient demand, a second week of clinics will run the following week.
Players will receive 12 hours of Coerver skills coaching over four days, an adidas playing shirt, adidas matchball, personalised FourFourTwo front cover, a copy of FourFourTwo magazine and a certificate of attendance.
The clinics will cost $180 per player and places on each clinic are strictly limited so be quick if you want to get involved!
