The Wanderers host the Mariners at Spotless Stadium on Saturday coming off a 2-1 win over Perth Glory, while the visitors went down 5-1 to Newcastle Jets.

Foxe watched the Mariners’ defeat and said they were vulnerable to a physical approach.

“One thing I did notice is they don’t like physicality,” Foxe said.

“They don’t like physicality, so we’ll see where that ends up.

“You want to play the game in the right form. It’s not for us to be dirty or bring the game into disrepute but I’ve noticed Newcastle were a strong physical side.”

Foxe was complimentary towards Central Coast and coach Paul Okon’s style since taking over prior to last season.

“Paulo plays a possession based style of football,” he said.

“They have a lot of the ball. They’re nice and neat on the eye.

“He’s done a good job, he’s transformed that team from when he took over to being a handy, possession-based side.”

Foxe also said the club were still going through the process of appointing a new head coach following Tony Popovic’s exit on the eve of the A-League season.

The interim boss enjoyed a winning start in charge, but had no indication on the future of the position at this stage.

“There’s a process in place with this role,” he said.

“At the moment I’m in charge of the team’s day-to-day activities until the club decide what they want to do.

“It’s not an easy decision to make so quick. It has to be the right process. We’re a big club. We don’t want to make hasty decisions.”
