Wanderers found themselves 2-0 up early in the Sydney derby before Chris Herd was adjudged to have fouled David Carney in the box in the 38th minute as Bobo pulled back a goal.

Foxe felt the spot kick was a turning point in the match.

“I thought it was soft, 100 per cent,” Foxe said.

“A lot of things didn’t go our way, we can’t control that. We can only do what we can control.

“It was a key moment, definitely, I don’t think they had a strike on goal up until then. It was quite a tight affair in that first half.

“After half-time I think they gained a bit more belief, I still thought in the second half the football we played was outstanding.”

The caretaker boss felt his side were unlucky not take the three points on the night.

“The response from last week’s performance was excellent,” he said.

“We come here away from home against current champions and I thought from start to finish we were excellent.

“It was a good point away from home, I thought the boys deserved three points on that performance.

“To get a point with that performance, it’s a little uneasy for us.”

Wanderers now return to Campbelltown on Tuesday to take on Adelaide United in the FFA Cup semi-final.
