Wantaway Lyon striker Fred has pleaded for forgiveness after returning to training late following the winter break because of personal problems.
The Brazil international arrived back with Les Gones eight days later than his team-mates, with his club unaware of his whereabouts and struggling to contact the 24-year-old.
"I had personal problems to sort out with my little girl and my ex-wife," Fred told www.lequipe.fr. "I am divorced now.
"I told Marcelo (Lyon's South American scout) about it. But I turned off my phone because so many people were calling me like journalists and agents, and I had to sort out my personal problems.
"I ask for the management to forgive me."
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed a move is on the cards for Fred after the player previously outlined his desire to leave the Stade Gerland since losing his place to in-form France striker Karim Benzema.
Fred has played just 366 minutes of first team football this season and Aulas believes that now he has returned there will be little difficulty in securing a move for the striker.
"We knew that he would come back," Aulas told Lyon's official website www.olweb.fr. "We just didn't know when because he took his usual route of doing things differently to others.
"If he wants to leave he can do so.
"We have had enquiries about him of which one is from PSG. A young Brazilian international is a rarity in the market.
"We'll take the time to discuss things with him. It's in his interest to find a club which will play him more and value him. But there is no possibility of us loaning him out."
Fred also wants a permanent move and is set for showdown talks with sporting director Marino Faccioli and Bernard Lacombe, Aulas' special advisor, when he will discuss his future.
The striker said he would love a move to PSG but is unaware of any official interest from the club.
"If a good offer comes, I will leave," added Fred. "But I don't want a loan deal, I want a definitive departure.
"I'm interested in PSG because they're a big club and I'm happy they're keen on me. But for the moment PSG haven't made an offer - neither to me nor to Lyon."
Fred added he would be content to stay with the French giants, who he joined form Cruzeiro in 2005 in a 16 million euro deal.
"I still have a year and a half left on my contract," he said. "I wouldn't care if I have to stay."
