Former Melbourne Victory star Fred was described as a "non-factor" after his US team DC United was knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup last night in Guadalajara, Mexico.
United introduced Brazilian newcomer Fred midway through the second half to hand him his debut against top Mexican outfit Chivas at the Estadio Jalisco.
However, according to DC's own website, "the reigning Australian league MVP saw little of the ball and was a non-factor around the goal."
The Americans were beaten 2-1 on the night to exit the tournament 3-2 on aggregate.
