The 26-year-old striker, who featured in two games at the World Cup in South Africa, travelled to Germany earlier this week and has now agreed a deal with the Bundesliga side. The terms have not been disclosed.

"In Kisho Yano, we have signed a striker who in recent years has consistently produced results of the highest quality in Japan," said Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner on the club's official website.

Yano has played over 150 matches in the J.League whilst he has made 19 appearances for Japan since making his international debut in 2007.
