The club slumped to the foot of the Bundesliga table yesterday after losing 3-0 at Kaiserslautern.

"We are in a difficult situation and we have got to get out of it together - with Michael Frontzeck," said Eberl.

"We always have hope, that is not being questioned, but we also need to work on getting wins.

"I can see the league table, I can see the figures and there is no getting away from them, but we will still keep on working together to turn things around."

Monchengladbach's next task is hardly a simple one, a home game against Bayern Munich next weekend.

"Only wins can help us now," added Eberl, who said an injury crisis was the real cause of his side's slump.

He said: "We build a team and, for different reasons, this team that we created and planned with is unavailable."

Frontzeck said Kaiserslautern's first goal was the key moment.

"They go ahead with a goal of the season contender and then I cannot explain how we fell apart to lose 3-0 in the end," he said.
