JOEL Griffiths has launched a blistering verbal attack against Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek after being overlooked for the World Cup squad.
While several overlooked players have spoken of their 'disappointment' at missing out and toed the 'coach makes the decisions' line Griffiths has let fly.
In Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald, the Beijing Guoan forward lets Verbeek have it with both barrels.
In comments emailed to the newspaper, the former Newcastle Jet said: "It really pisses me off when he (Verbeek) said we have better strikers than Joel Griffiths, how the f*** would he know? He's never seen me for two years and when he did I was (A-League) MVP and golden boot."
Griffiths goes on to say that he doesn't believe Verbeek has any idea of what he is capable of as a footballer.
The striker also said: "I would have been much happier if he had given me a phone call to say 'you're shit' but not even having the respect or courtesy to take 30 seconds out of your day to call (hurts)."
