NORTH Queensland Fury boss Ian Ferguson is confident his new-look team will not suffer a second pre-season mauling at the hands of Brisbane Roar when the teams clash this weekend.
Fury were beaten 4-0 by Frank Farina's side in Mackay earlier in the A-League build up but that was a side packed with trialists and missing numerous key players.
The likes of Robbie Fowler, Scott Wilson and David Williams were all missing (or not yet signed) for that match and Ferguson is confident of a far better showing this time out.
Ferguson admits he will remind those who did play in the match what the outcome was and hopes it will help spur them on to a big performance.
He told the Townsville Bulletin: "'They gave us a lesson in that first half and were a class above where we were then, but I feel we are getting personnel back and it will be a better game."
Regardless of the result this weekend, Ferguson believes Roar will be challenging for honours at the end of the campaign.
He said: ''The Roar's a good team, they are going to be there or thereabouts for the A-League. They've been that way for the last two years under Frank."
