NORTH Queensland Fury have secured the services of Socceroos defender Shane Stefanutto with the player in line for a derby debut against Gold Coast United this weekend.
It is believed a two-year deal has been agreed with Stefanutto after the defender quit Norwegian outfit Lyn to join Fury.
Fury chairman Don Matheson is thrilled with the capture and expects him to shine in the A-League.
''There is no doubt he is probably going to be the best left-side defender in the comp,'' Matheson told the Townsville Bulletin. "Wild horses won't be able to keep him out of the side against the Gold Coast."
Fury opened their inaugural A-League campaign with a 3-2 defeat and will look to bounce back when they travel to Skilled Park for a date with fellow A-League new boys Gold Coast.
Stefanutto is expected to meet up with his new teammates tomorrow to beging preparations for the clash.
