The match, Fury's first ever in the A-League, is tipped to attract around 15,000 to Dairy Farmers stadium, a venue more accustomed to hosting Rugby League fans.

And it's this fact that has the left-footed midfielder predicting the neutral fans in Townsville will be treated to a new experience when A-League football makes its bow on Saturday evening.

"It'll be a different crowd and atmosphere to the Cowboys," he told au.fourfourtwo.com. "I've been to some of the Cowboys game and it's pretty quiet with not much cheering.

"If anyone's been to a football ground, they'll know there is a lot of singing and chanting and clapping and all of that.

"It'll be very different for the Townsville crowd to see that."

But Agius offers a cautionary note to the fans ahead of Saturday night's big game. He wants them to make noise but says the side still needs more time to meld into a cohesive unit.

"We're not going to gel till round four or five," he said. "So we've just got to work, work, work to get that."

But Agius likes what he sees of the Fury squad that is gradually getting stronger by the day.

Shane Stefanutto is tipped to sign and fill the troublesome left back position while star man Robbie Fowler appears closer than ever to full fitness.

What's more, David Williams has slotted neatly into a right side midfield role as Ian Ferguson's squad  has a classier look to it compared to the last time the green shirts played the sky blues.

The two sides met in a friendly in late June at a chilly Cronulla with Sydney pumping a poor Fury 4-0 - and it could have been six.

"We've got a lot of young boys who've been around the A-League before and the older, more experienced boys like Robbie Middleby and of course Robbie Fowler. I think we have a little bit of everything," said Agius, who starred against Sydney that night.

"And we have the weather, I think it's 33 degrees as we speak. We hope it will be a factor but I don't think it will be particularly earlier in the season."

It's tipped to be 28 degrees in Townsville on Saturday.

Agius,  Williams and Fowler could form a potent attacking triumvirate for Fury and Agius hopes former England star Fowler can profit from enough good service for the Liverpool star to do the rest.

He added: "His touch is world class, you can see that straight away."
