A Sydney FC spokesperson told au.fourfourtwo.com that a news report this week linking Cole, 24, with a loan move to English club Brighton and Hove Albion was off the mark.

But the club are leaving open the possibility of such a move should the player's visa situation be sorted out.

"There are no plans for Shannon to be loaned to Brighton or to any other club," the club said today.

"However, if Shannon's visa situation can be sorted out we would consider it."

Cole is currently in Jakarta and is poised to make his full Socceroo debut tonight against Indonesia.

In other Sydney news, the club's tour of China is all but confirmed for February.

The sky blues are set to play two matches against Shanghai Shenhua, the Chinese Super League club it has an alliance with, over a seven day period.

The players are continuing to train ahead of their China tour before taking their pre-season break.

The club also confirmed that their mooted friendly next month against J-League power Urawa Red Diamonds was off.
