EXCLUSIVE: Adelaide United is set to lose the services of central defender Iain Fyfe after he signed a two-year contract to join Korean K-League outfit Busan I'Park.
It is understood by au.fourfourtwo.com that the 28-year-old centre-half is set to jet off to Korea to join Busan for an undisclosed fee.
"He's had a fabulous season and really deserves this move. The Korean club really wanted Iain and their coach called him personally - so it's great news all-round," said Ante Ailovic of Entourage Managment, who secured the lucrative deal for the former Sky Blue.
Fyfe, who had a year left on his contract, joins former Red and current Asian Player of the year Sasa Ognenovski in the K-League. The current first choice Socceroo plays for ACL champions Seongnam.
It's understood Adelaide were happy with the transfer fee and Fyfe, who has scored four goals for the Reds this season and been integral to their impressive campaign at the back, leaves after the Mariners game on January 29.
Busan finished eighth in the K-League in 2010 and were runners-up in the Korean FA Cup losing 1-0 to Suwon Bluewings in the final.
