The Rams are bottom of the table after taking just one point from their opening five games, and lost 6-0 to Liverpool last time out.

Gadsby, whose consortium bought the club in April last year, has received over 150 emails from fans upset over what they see as a lack of ambition in the transfer market, after County only added Scotland striker Kenny Miller to their squad in the final week of the transfer window.

"Unfortunately, it can get a bit personal, it is difficult and it does affect you," Gadsby told www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk.

"It is disappointing when you put time and money into trying to build the club up. You feel you have done your best but that's what comes with the territory.

"What we found was we did not get the Sky money until August 14 and we had Earnshaw to buy, and so we had a rights issue," said Gadsby.

This has changed the balance of ownership which was split equally when the consortium took over 16 months ago.

"Some directors have more equity than others now," added Gadsby.

"But there are other shareholders who have substantial shareholdings as well."
