Rovers have agreed to a fee in the region of £2million, leaving the Turkish club open to talk to the midfielder, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.

The injury-riddled midfielder has declined to comment on the subjected interested as he trains with the Socceroos ahead of the World Cup.

"It's pretty bad timing. I didn't really want to get into these questions in a World Cup, such an important time in my football season," he said ahead of the friendly clash with the United States.

It is understood both Kewell and Neill played a part in persuading the 30-year-old.

If Grella agrees to the move, it would be a blow to organisers of the Sydney Football Festival, with Blackburn due to play in Australia in July.

Injured teammate Brett Emerton would be the lone Aussie Rover to possibly make the trip.
