David Beckham saw his new side in action for the first time as the struggling LA Galaxy lost their opening World Series of Football friendly 3-0 to Mexican side Tigres in Carson, California.
Beckham, nursing an ankle injury which could prevent him from making his debut on Saturday against Chelsea, watched the game from an executive box alongside his manager Terry Byrne and the Galaxy's general manager Alexi Lalas.
And he saw the Major League Soccer outfit outclassed as Francisco Fonseca, Walter Gaitan and Alejandro Villalobos all got on the scoresheet.
The encounter proved as low-key as the crowd of around 2,000 as Galaxy struggled to keep the ball and Tigres looked the more positive of the two sides.
Fonseca opened the scoring after 11 minutes as the Mexico international got in behind the Galaxy defence to latch onto a Gaitan pass before rounding keeper Joe Cannon and slotting home.
Chris Klein, the man currently occupying Beckham's right-wing berth, was dismissed in the 64th minute after picking up a second booking for a seemingly fair challenge on Tigres substitute Guillermo Marino.
Eight minutes later Gaitan doubled Tigres lead before Villalobos killed the game off in the 89th minute with the third.
