The reigning Major League Soccer champions have won just three of their nine matches in the 2012 season, which sees them sitting seventh in the Western Conference.

And the former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder believes time is running out for the club to resurrect their campaign.

"Obviously we're disappointed with the way we are playing, with the way we are performing and how we are losing games," Beckham said.

"We're nine games in … last year we had 14 points, the year before we had 11 (they currently have 10). I think that we're at the point where we need to start winning games, simple as that."

Beckham feels hard work on the training ground will help the Galaxy rediscover their form.

"The only way we can start doing that is by working hard on the training field," he said.

"Mentally and physically it takes it out of you, but we're only nine games in, so physically it shouldn't be a problem."

Attacking star Landon Donovan is also of the belief that the Galaxy need to start winning games sooner rather than later.

"It's crazy to say after nine games but we don't have any leeway anymore," Donovan said.

"Other teams are picking up points, there's not a lot of draws in the league, so teams aren't staying close, some are pulling away. We have to be really careful."
