Saturday's game between Roma and AC Milan in the Italian capital is the best Serie A has to offer, according to Adriano Galliani.
The Milan vice-president will be in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico as the Rossoneri look to keep pace with league leaders Inter.
Second-placed Milan travel to the Eternal City trailing city rivals Inter by four points, with Roma just three points further behind.
"Despite the absence of Alexandre Pato and (injured Roma captain) Francesco Totti, from an aesthetic level, this game is the best that our tournament can offer," said Galliani.
"Roma and Milan play good football and I expect a thrilling game with the stadium set to be sold out."
Pato did not play for Brazil in Tuesday's 2-0 friendly win over the Republic of Ireland in London after suffering a hamstring injury last weekend.
Milan's top scorer will miss this weekend's match and is fighting against the clock to recover for next week's Champions League return leg at Old Trafford.
"Pato is a great champion," said Galliani. "His absence will cause us some problems but we hope he will recover in time for the game at Manchester United."
A draw in Rome would only benefit Jose Mourinho's Inter.
The Nerazzurri host Genoa having ended a three-match winless run last weekend by edging Udinese 3-2.
Red-hot Palermo, who head into the weekend in fourth spot, take on relegation-threatened Livorno.
Napoli and Juventus are just two points behind Palermo, who hold the last Champions League qualifying spot.
Napoli visit Bologna looking to end a five-match winless run, while Juve face a big test when they visit Fiorentina on Saturday.
The Turin outfit will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's 2-0 defeat against Palermo that marked Alberto Zaccheroni's first defeat since his arrival as Juve coach earlier this year.
Cagliari will seek home comfort when they take on Catania on Sunday.
The Sardinian side have slipped to eighth in the standings after losing their last two games on the road.
Chievo, in contrast, make the journey to Bari on the back of two straight wins.
The Flying Donkeys are 12 points clear of the drop zone and expect to take another step towards Serie A survival with victory against the Galletti.
Strugglers Lazio travel to Genoa to face Sampdoria needing a win to ease their relegation worries.
The Biancoceleste have won only two games away from home this season and lie 17th, just three points clear of the drop zone.
The Romans will have their work cut out against a seventh-placed Samp team who are unbeaten at home this season.
Second-from-bottom Atalanta are five points adrift of safety and will be desperate to avoid their third consecutive loss when they face fellow strugglers Udinese on Sunday.
Parma travel to Serie A basement boys Siena eager to pick up where they left off in their 1-0 win over Sampdoria in the last round.
Last weekend's triumph marked Parma's first win in 2010 and lifted the Gialloblu 10 points clear of the danger zone.
