Embattled A-League club Brisbane Roar has come under fire from Football Federation Australia after again missing a deadline for some staff payments.
FFA chief David Gallop told The Courier Mail on Monday: “It’s unacceptable that the Brisbane Roar are once again having issues with the payment of monthly payroll.
“We have received firm undertakings from the owners and the current managing director about a recapitalisation of the club’s operations.
“We expect these undertakings to be delivered, and so do the players, coaches, members, sponsors and all in the Roar family.
“We’ve seen late payments a number of times over the past year, but FFA can’t be expected to tolerate that as the normal state of affairs for Brisbane Roar.”
The Bakrie Group-owned club continues to lurch from one off-field disaster to another as fans become increasingly impatient with the FFA’s lack of action.
Earlier this month a growing swell of supporters called for club's managing director, Daniel Cobb, to be dumped following a damaging split with Head Coach, John Aloisi.
Cobb told The Courier Mail that technical problems had caused the late payments and any overdue wages were being processed manually.
