Goals from Leandro, Hayato Sasaki and substitute Cho Jae-jin were enough to complete a fourth consecutive Group F victory for the defending champions.

It was the home side who almost broke the deadlock after eight minutes, though, with skipper Keith Gumbs just failing to reach a low cross into the box.

Sriwijaya keeper Dede Sulaiman denied Yasuhito Endo before striker Ngon Djam fired straight at goalkeeper Naoki Matsuyo following a Sriwijaya counter-attack.

Gamba defender Sota Nakazawa then rattled the bar with a header from Endo's corner after 25 minutes but the visitors went ahead five minutes later when Leandro brought down a long ball before firing a low effort beyond Dede.

Gamba doubled their money in stoppage-time. Leandro's cut-back found Masato Yamazaki and he evaded a challenge before crashing a shot against the bar from six yards out with Dede beaten. But the ball fell to Sasaki and he volleyed into an empty net.

Matsuyo then produced a brilliant save to stop Michihiro Yasuda from putting through his own net in the 63rd minute after the Gamba player deflected Djam's cross goalwards.

Cho then put the result beyond doubt in the 75th minute when he was played in by Shinichi Terada and rifled a rising shot past Dede from a narrow angle.
