GOLD Coast United could pile more misery on bottom-placed Sydney FC, a team it has beaten in all three attempts and visits in week eight of the A-League.
United beat the Sky Blues in every meeting in their debut year, including the round 23 clash at the Sydney Football Stadium courtesy of a goal from Joel Porter.
Sydney remains winless and faces two important back-to-back games against United and the North Queensland Fury, both at home.
The Fury will be looking to break a similar hoodoo when they travel to Wellington.
The Phoenix have never lost to the Fury and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run at Westpac Stadium to 24 matches.
Perth Glory travels for a second consecutive week, visiting Hindmarsh Stadium in a clash between two of the competition fancies.
Adelaide has won eight of the 15 clashes between the sides and five of eight at home, looking to break further clear at the top of the table.
Stand-in captain Lucas Pantelis has contributed four assists to his team's cause this season, while Glory coach David Mitchell will be hopeful high-profile striker Robbie Fowler can add to his one goal for the club.
Melbourne Victory has the same record as the Glory, but theirs is at EnergyAustralia Stadium, where they face the Newcastle Jets this week.
The Victory is coming off two scoreless draws but visit a Jets side recovering from their mid-week loss at the Gold Coast.
Cross-town rival Melbourne Heart also faces a road trip ahead of the upcoming derby, hosted by the Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
